We built Pippa because we couldn’t find quality, non-toxic cleaning in NYC.

How is my price determined?

Every quote is based on the size of your home, your preferred cleaning frequency, and anything specific you need us to focus on. We don't use a one-size-fits-all pricing model because no two homes are the same. Once we understand your space and schedule, we'll provide a clear, flat rate with no surprise fees.

Do I need to be home during the cleaning?

No. Most of our clients aren't home when we clean. We work with you to arrange secure access before your first visit so the process is seamless from the start. You'll receive a notification when your crew arrives and when they're done.

What kind of food do you serve?

We cook all meals in-house, using fresh, natural ingredients. No salt, no sugar, no processed snacks — just simple, balanced meals prepared with care.

Will I have the same crew every time?

Yes. Consistency is central to how Pippa works. You'll have the same crew assigned to your home so they get to know your space, your preferences, and your standard. If anything changes, you hear from us before your next visit.

What's the difference between a regular cleaning and a deep clean?

A regular cleaning maintains a clean home on an ongoing basis. It covers all the surfaces, floors, bathrooms, and living areas your household uses day to day. A deep clean is a more thorough, top-to-bottom service that addresses areas that don't get attention in a standard visit, including inside appliances, behind furniture, grout, and more. If you're new to Pippa, we recommend starting with a deep clean so your home is at the right baseline before we settle into a regular rhythm.

How do I reschedule or make changes to my service?

You can reschedule or adjust your service directly through your client portal or by contacting your dedicated point of contact. We ask for at least 48 hours notice for scheduling changes. We don't charge unexpected fees for reasonable adjustments.

Do I need to provide cleaning supplies?

No. Pippa brings everything needed for your service, all products and equipment included. Every product we arrive with has been reviewed against the Pippa List before it ever enters a client's space. You don't need to stock anything, and you don't need to wonder what we're using. We handle both.

Are your products safe for kids and pets?

Yes. Every product we use is reviewed against the Pippa List, which excludes over 1,000 ingredients commonly found in conventional cleaning products, including phthalates, synthetic fragrances, ammonia, and other compounds linked to hormone disruption, respiratory irritation, and long-term health effects. We built Pippa around the belief that a clean home shouldn't introduce new risks into it. That standard applies in every space we clean, every visit.

How long does a regular cleaning usually take?

It depends on the size of your home, the condition of the space, and how frequently we're there. A home we clean weekly will naturally take less time per visit than one we're seeing for the first time. When your service is scheduled, we'll provide an estimated timeframe so you know what to expect. We don't rush to hit a number. We work to the standard, not the clock.

What products does Pippa use and why does it matter?

We evaluate every product against the Pippa List, which excludes over 1,000 ingredients commonly found in conventional cleaning products. We assess for ingredient transparency, VOC emissions, synthetic fragrance systems, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and long-term indoor air exposure. We prioritize fragrance-free and low-VOC formulations because a product shouldn't continue affecting the air in your home long after the cleaning is done.

Conventional cleaning products don't just clean a surface. They change the environment of the space. VOCs can make indoor air two to ten times more polluted than outdoor air. Phthalates, linked to hormone disruption, are commonly found in synthetic fragrances and are never required to be disclosed on labels. Ammonia and other compounds can linger in a space long after it looks clean. A 2023 Environmental Working Group study found conventional cleaning products emit an average of 22 hazardous VOCs per product, with some continuing to off-gas for days after use. We don't bring any of that into your home.

How does Pippa hire and vet its cleaners?

Every Pippa cleaner goes through a multi-step process before they ever enter a client's space. This includes an in-person interview, a thorough background check, and full training on our non-toxic cleaning standards, surface care, and client protocols. We don't hire through staffing agencies or rotate through contractors. We build consistent, trusted crews and invest in the people on them because the quality of your clean starts with the people doing it.

Is Pippa insured?

Yes. Pippa carries full general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage. Every cleaner who enters your home or business is covered. You can request our insurance documentation at any time.

What makes Pippa different from other cleaning companies?

Most cleaning companies haven't meaningfully changed how they operate in decades. Same chemicals, same inconsistent crews, same lack of transparency about what's actually being used in your home. Pippa was built around a different belief, that the spaces where you live and work deserve the same level of intention you bring to everything else. That means non-toxic products reviewed against a 1,000-ingredient restricted list, crews who are vetted and consistent, and full visibility into what was used in your space after every visit. We didn't build Pippa to be a better version of the same thing. We built it to be something different.

Do you serve both homes and businesses?

Yes. Pippa provides non-toxic cleaning services for both residential and commercial clients across New York. Our residential services include regular cleaning, deep cleans, move in and move out, and post-renovation. Our commercial services cover offices, retail, restaurants and hospitality, health and wellness spaces, common areas, and post-construction. The same product standards and hiring practices apply across every client and every space we clean.
